Savannah - Marguerite "Maggi" Ellis Hall, age 91, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Hospice House in Savannah. She was a native of Savannah and was known to many as "The Blue Bird." She traveled extensively and lived in San Paulo, Brazil, El Paso, Texas and Portsmouth, Virginia. Mrs. Hall was retired from Georgia Regional Hospital in Savannah as a medical records clerk. She served as a deacon and elder of First Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, and was a former member of Montgomery Presbyterian Church. Maggi was a member of the Poetry Society of Georgia, Friends of the Library, St. Johns Business Women's Club, V.F.W Post 660 Auxiliary, Savannah Art Association, the Savannah Chapter of the N.S.D.A.R., the Geechee Quilters Guild, and the former Savannah Chapter of the Toastmistress Society. Mrs. Hall was the niece of baseball star "Shoeless" Joe Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Jack Hall Sr.

Surviving are, two sons, Woodrow Jack Hall, Jr., of Portsmouth, Va., Richard Wilmotte Hall of Cocoa, Fl., a daughter, Nancy Hall O'Neal of Las Vegas, NV., a brother, George Sinclair Ellis of Savannah, nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A graveside interment service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends with a reception in Stewart Hall following the Memorial Service.
